CYMRU AM BYTH

Having to work today I got the privilege to cover and watch the first half of the Wales Semi final game against France at Mold rugby Club then the second half at Wrexham Rugby Club . I think this pic sums the  day up

Its great to see all ages enjoying the sport together

Well done lads you have done your country proud

"Little Photo" App #2

I've been quite busy with work and other commitments recently and am taking my time with the film pics ( Quality over quantity )

Snapped a few pics on Rhyl Prom this morning using my Samsung Galaxy S and the Little Photo app . What a great little thing , I'm not really impressesd with the quality of image from camera phones but the filters on the app seem to add a little something to what could be otherwise very flat images

Wild Roaming horses of Llanddwyn Island

Shot with Canon 40d and Lomo Lomography Holga plastic lens
Shot with Canon 40d and Lomo Lomography Holga plastic lens

Fabulous weather on Llanddwyn Island .  Can't believe it was this late in the year with the Indian summer we are having . These horses were really placid and must be very used to people as they were not at all bothered about people getting close and taking photos , true professionals I think! The weather this day was wholly different to the last time I visited

Few more pics of the island at sunset :
View from old pilots boat house or lifeboat station . I think the harsh weather conditions have caused the door to fall off

Little Photo App for Android phones

Found this great application for my camera phone last week . Available for free on Android it has some great filters to add a bit of something to your phone cam pics . You can even upload old pics to put through the filter . Great stuff I have really enjoyed using it this week especially the Lomography filters

Other review and download info available on following link

ANDROID MARKET LITTLE PHOTO APP

I probably need to set it up properly but so far the only issue is that it shrinks the image size

(I have not adjusted light , contrast or vignetting in Photoshop that was all done in the application . You can also purchase the full app with more features  )

Wedding pics

Last weekend I was asked to take a 1st dance pic at a local wedding . Congratulations to the happy couple who are honeymooning in Toronto ( I may post a pic later after they have seen the pictures )

After the initial dance the lasers and lights come into full . I got this streaming effect by having a fairly long shutter speed and zooming in to out , ( Would have come out better with a tripod but really who carries one of them about !

Film SLR 1st colour film

Double exposure River Dee at Llangollen hand in water
Talacre Beach cliche mirror shot

My Retro BK Knights

Scott wearing girls sunnies

The Battered Fish with a friendly customer greeting .... oh wait a minute

Talacre beach car park nice and quiet

Ok so  the blogger template has just underlined Talacre as being spelled wrong so I right click for an alternative spelling suggestion but the only word it gave was "rectal," what genius wrote that dictionary !

Anyway after complaining about having to send off my process paid film  I was surprised when it came through the post today as film slides ! They look really smart as they are not in negative but positive ... Might have to create a back-lit box to display them

This is the first colour film that I have put through my £5 film SLR.
The film was exposed quite well so I now know I can rely on the on-board metering of the camera . I do however need to be a bit more specific on manual / auto focusing to make images more sharp ( Also I need to have a bit more of a play with the scanning as I'm not sure if the focus point is correct )

Great oaks from little acorns grow

Having bought a film SLR from E Bay I have been itching to use it ( I bought a Canon Eos 300 as my digital Eos lenses will fit straight on . Not sure if the person selling it was too happy though as I was the only bidder and got it for the bargain price of £5 with £3.50 p&p ..... I gave excellent feedback so everyone's happy...)

I have put a colour film through it but taking it to be processed in Boots today I was met with the response     " Process paid , I haven't seen that in years , we charge you to process it here you have to send it off," not the greatest of starts really and did seem a little daft I bought it from them , they had the equipment to process it behind them ...... but I had to send it through the post ..... Ah well you live and learn !!!!

Anyway I had a few B&W pics from the other day and  decided to visit Greenfield heritage valley near Holywell to finish off the reel

The heritage area is a great place to get pics with old mills, a ruined abbey and ponds

TECH INFO :

I used Canon 300d with a Canon 70-40 lens ( Bit daft a £500 lens on a £5 camera I do admit )

Kentmere 100 iso film 24 exp from Nova Darkroom website ( Amazing place I ordered in the morning , the next day I had it  delivered you can find the website here :NOVA DARKROOM SUPPLIES

It was developed in a Pattison 4 tank for 10.5 mins and in a fixer for 5 mins . ( This gave the high contrast feel to the pics)

I'm fairly happy with the results but right now it's more about learning for me that's important. The images still to me appear a little muddy and there is strobing  on some of the shots (probably due to the Fairy liquid not being washed off properly )
