BRITISH Heart Foundation turn Rhyl clocktower red

EXP 1 second F/4 and Iso 100 . Canon 40D 17-40mm
The British Heart foundation have turned the clocktower in Rhyl red to raise awareness of the town turning into a ' heart town '

To get this effect I balanced the camera on a wall and moved the zoom from out to in on a slower shutter speed to get the trailing lights effect

CUTEST little thing ever

Did a job at the pet rescue center near me today . This fella was abandoned with his brothers and sisters and parents on side of a busy road ..... Not a massive animal fan but I wanted to bring him home !!
There was so many stories of animal cruelty from just one rescue shelter

Below is a link to how it was reported online in THE LEADER

SO a quick Google search reveals that one of my pictures has been ripped off for a music video

Above image shows still at 3.32 of my image in a music video by a band called Nale and beneath my original image
A quick Google search while I was online today revealed that one of my photos from this blog has been ripped off and used in a music video

To be honest I may not have minded if I was asked for the use of the image ( My contact information is quite clear on the bottom of this page and and I check the e mail address regularly, however that did not happen  )

My job as a photographer is my only form of income and how I pay my bills . People ripping you off without proper consent / licensing is what is killing the trade and making it hard to earn a living in this industry

Quite interesting to see though that even though the picture was a video still that Google managed to pick it up

It may be an interesting few days ........

The link to the music video is below

I suggest if you don't like black clothes wearing screaming musicians that you may wanna view it with the sound off ( As I did )

PORTLIGHTS

Just before Christmas I shot a band called Portlights in Caia Park Wrexham

Taking advantage of an early start and the low sun this time of year I played around with silhouettes and using an off hotshoe flash ( Strobist ) to get some different shots

It's great shooting bands as you get to play around more with composition and just have fun

In the end I was happy with what I got in the short time we had to shoot and nobody broke any bones by slipping on black Ice that seemed to be everywhere in the park

The band I must say were a pleasure to work with very professional and even brought their own props

You can click on the link below to visit their official website

CHESTER squirrels

Took a few snaps of friendly squirrels in a park in Chester . These are some of the least timid wild animals I have come across

I'm sure they're trained to pose for the camera as the come right up to you often too close for the camera to focus

Red Squirrels they may not be but fun to watch and enjoy they certainly are

WEATHER Storms in Rhyl

Parts of Rhyl resembled a giant sandcastle today with sand taking over car parks , seats and climbing at walls

Might take a while to get all this sand out of my eyes...

Other than cropping there  has been no Photoshopping of the above images

Not too bad for a second try

HUNDREDS of miles apart in the same photo !

After ruining a reel of film by getting my timings wrong a couple of weeks ago I got a few nice images with this lot . The first pic shown below is a double exposure ( The wind turbine was taken in Scotland and the background was a mural on a wall in Chester almost 250 miles apart )

boats near bridge Garden City Deeside . The Lomography fisheye camera gave it an interesting composition

DAFT PUNK IS PLAYING AT MY HOUSE

I had a bit of a brainwave about light writing just before walking through my front door today . Might keep the technique under my hat until I have a proper play at it . You can even see the streetlight in the background on some shots
