AWESOME night that I will never forget . If anyone is interested in starting stand up comedy then I can recommend the course at :  COMEDY TRUST based in Liverpoolor E Mail info@thecomedytrust.com

Tec wise I had to crank the ISO to 6400 as it was pretty dark and no  flash can be used in the venue . I put a vintage filter over the originals . Shot with a Canon 50mm , 17:40 and 70:200.

LIVER Birds Liverpool

LIVERPOOL CCTV

I know legend has it that if these birds fly away that the city of Liverpool will fall but I think this is going a bit too far !

( Original images not cropped or edited just shrunk in size for net , perhaps a little out of context )

Due to Merseyrail being useless at dealing with a bit of rain I had an early visit to Liverpool today and made the most of it

Had a visit to Liverpool Museum pictured above ( Really Great ) and Open Eye Gallery on Mann Island  Link to website here : OPEN EYE GALLERY

I really liked the way they displayed the voyeuristic work of Kohei Yoshiyuki with the images hung in a darkened room, only seen by torchlight .....

The Hunt for Red October is now over as I found out that one of the 'subs' built by Paramount for the film is now a floating 'Yellow Submarine' in the harbour and inside is a Scooter originally used in the film Quadrophenia !

YELLOW SUBMARINE STORY

There is also the 'Joker' Boat that was apparently used in the Batman film where Jack Nickholson played the Joker but scenes involving the boat were cut from the final edit ( not sure why it would have been amazing watching the joker escape at speeds of up to 5MPH hoping that Batman wouldn't catch up to him on the locks .  Better off running away form spiderman over water really ....)

OH and I found this . Looks like Liverpool have banned standing in a Cockney manner , swimming and playing BBC'S Big red Wipeout balls on the Albert Dock
NO SWIMMING , STANDING IN A COCKNEY MANNER  OR WIPEOUT BALLS

THEN I SAW THIS VAN PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK
HE HE they'll never find me here...

DUKE of Lancaster GRAFFITI

This is old news now but this ship is a landmark on the North Wales coast and has a very interesting history that can be read here : Duke_of_Lancaster_Wiki page

From what I see on this page it was Latvian graffiti artist "Kiwie" was commissioned to spray paint a design on the ship

( I did wonder how he got a crane down there with the security they have on site )

There is an orange coloured monster on the starboard ( other side ) but I did not have time to get round there . Maybe another visit is in order ...?

Site explaining about the graffiti is here : Duke of Lancaster Kiwi graffiti description

RESCUE Center

'THEO' taken with Canon 50MM at F/1.8
'Gerry' This dog was gorgeous one vivid blue eye and one brown

This week I visited Merlin Animal Rescue center near Rhuallt to photograph some unwanted dogs . I used a Canon 50mm lens at F/1.8 with all dogs to get some interesting dog portraits with a blurred background

There were some really gorgeous and friendly animals there that just need a good home to go to . It's a crying shame that people cannot afford to keep these animals

below is a link to the Merlin Animal Rescue site if anyone thinks they can help

FIGHT Report Liquid Wrexham July 8th 2012

On Sunday 8th July 2012  the traditional boxing ring was favored over  the cage for the Russ Williams Promotion Championship Thai and Kickboxing event at Liquid Nightclub Wrexham

The first bout was a demo between Jack Large and Matt Knockthat ended in a draw

Dylan Lee  of Merseyside Boxing beat Lloyd Copeland of Russ Williams gym in a 3 X 1.5  min bout

Liam Simons of Team Kilbride won against Fahad Manier of Leicester Kickboxing

Tom Lawlor of Merseyside Kickboxing beat Nathan Sherwood of Russ Williams / Will Killow Gym Caerwys

Gareth Eke of Warriors Kickboxing Norfolk  lost his bout against Ste Allen of Team Kilbride

Craig Poole of Thomas Thai lost against  Anthony Smythe of Russ Williams Gym Wrexham

Gaz Oates of Alex Gym Mold was visibly disappointed on not being able to carry on his fight after opponent Ashleigh Kendell of Warrior Kickboxing Norfolk refused to fight on after being kicked below the belt early on in the first round

The European ISKA Title eliminator and 4 nations kick boxing title fight between Eugene Valerio of Russ Williams / Taz Muai Thai gym and Malcom Griffin of Free To Flow Power of County Kerry Ireland was called off at the eleventh hour when Griffin despite having traveled over changed his mind and refused to fight

Arguably one of the best fights of the night was between the two female fighters . The experienced Danielle Peters of Wolf's Lair Warrington VS the lighter  Lucia Galova of Russ Williams / Will Killow Caerwys . This was Lucias first fight and both women showed great fitness and dedication in an extremely energetic and fast moving bout

Ashleigh Breigh of Leicester Kickboxing was defeated by Alan Davies of Taz Muai Thai

Liam Conwell of Team Kilbride later discovered that he had fractured his arm in the first round of his 5 x 2 minute fight for the ISKA North West Thai Boxing Light Middleweight Title VS Marc Evans of Russ Williams Gym Caerwys. Despite the fracture the fight went the distance with Marc Evans retaining his title by a judges decision

The final fight of the evening was between Mike Egan of Llandudno Next Generation gym and Robin Humphreys of Pritchards Martial Arts Caernarfon and was for the ISKA Four nations Middleweight Kickboxing Title . By the end of the fight the whole audience were on their feet willing their fighters on . Mike Egan was successful and awarded the belt after the 7 X 2 minute rounds went the distance

Boxers Damian Tryfanow and Andy Jones' opponents pulled out between the weigh in and the fight

The organizers wished to thank the  600+ people for giving the event such a great atmosphere & for the sponsors Cynergy Security & Penny Black Cafe Bar.

Event organizers have stated that due to increased costs and less sponsorship this may unfortunately be the last time this event takes place .... Anyone wishing to provide sponsorship for possible future events are asked to contact Russ Williams
