At one point during the match it did feel like I was photographing rain at a football match rather than photographing the footie in the rain !


I was using Canon 300mm F2.8 on a Canon 7D . At one point the Iso was up to 3200 as them thick rain clouds were stopping the sun getting through at the 'summer' league decider

MONOPOLY recession special edition / Letter sent to Hasbro

Dear Hasbro,

I was never that good at Monopoly as a child as I was too honest and didn't realise the whole point of the game was to steal from the bank without getting caught


While you can learn many things from playing it does not really teach much about society at present
   
I think a new Monopoly special 'recession' edition would be a fantastic addition to the company portfolio alongside the Monopoly Millionaire and that silly one with bank cards where there is no chance you can 'borrow' from the bank :

In the recession edition nobody would be able to afford anything on the board so you just pay extortionate rents to numerous buy to let landlords aka 'bankers'

The Chance and and Community chest cards cards could have real life scenarios rather than the usual 'you have won a modeling competition collect £50'

here are some of my ideas:

Your girlfriend discovers that you have been shopping at Boots without her Advantage card. After 2 hours of whining you suggest that she is overreacting and all you bought was one tube of toothpaste anyway. Pay the bank £400 for dental treatment

Congratulations you won the lottery ! The scratchcard cost £2 and you only won £1, miss a turn

You spent your last £5 on a lottery ticket and win £1000. Your success is noted in a local newspaper. Collect your £1000

You spend your last £5 on a lottery ticket. You lose. You are a bad parent. Miss 2 turns

The condom splits.....Luckily losing your car and having to bike 20 miles a day to work has caused infertility problems. Miss the next 2 turns worrying about where you are gonna' find the money

Your you tube video of a cat gets 10,000 hits in 24 hours...... Nobody cares

Your dad is a financial backer for the Conservative party, consider this your get out of jail free card

Your parents die in a freak jam making accident . At the will hearing you realize you are the least favorite child . You gain £1,500 but all other players get £3,000

 The game ends when a fight / riot breaks out

Had a bit of a read up on Tilt shift toytown effect and saw that you can cheat the effect in Photoshop

Here was my first attempt taken from the clock tower in the town centre a few weeks ago when it had been snowing

A few weeks ago now I got to visit the Coronation street set to promote a charity fight

The staff and actors there were so nice and it was great to see behind the scenes and I even got to see the soap being filmed

Sometimes work is so much fun !

It was a full house yet again at Liquid in Wrexham for the first Russ Williams Promotions Fight night of 2013

Mikey Bagnall of Wrexham Thai Boxing club and Alex Bagley of Mersey Thai (both only 10 years of age) kicked off proceedings with an impressive show of skills for their age with Alex deemed the winner

Jordan Wynn of Wrexham Thai Boxing went the distance but lost on points to Kyle Ellis of Llandudno Immortals

Steven Stooke  of Thomas Thai in his fourth fight lost to Matty Jackson of AC Muai Thai Chester who was on his first fight

Glyn Williams of Wrexham Thai Boxing drew against a much heavier Ryan Jones of Thomas Thai in their demo bout

14 year old Haydn Jones of Llandudno Immortals lost on points to 14 year old Dylan Lee of Merseyside Kickboxing

Krystof Properly of Muai Thai Chester lost to Chris Jones of Russ Williams Gym

71Kg Adam Stevenson of Chester Kabon lost to 75KG Craig Poole of Thomas Thai Chester

Aaron Jones of Llandudno Immortals won in his bout against Kudranski Lukazse of Sale West

Holywell fighter Naomi Jones of Thomas Thai Beat fellow competitor Shannon Graham of Newmark Martial Arts . Shannon agreed to fight after 2 of Naomi's previous competitors had to pull out

Tony Piano of Alex Gym Mold lost on points to Ash Jones of Russ Williams Gym

Greenfield fighter Jay Cooper of Thomas Thai beat Gintaras Ausejenca of Chester Boxers

Next Level gym boxer Josh Haygarth was beaten by Ruthin's Arwel Morris of Russ Williams gym in what was an extremely close and competitive fight

Steve Stocker of Spencer's Gym drew against Liam Brown of Sale West

The Final bout and main event saw Ricky Nicholson of Thomas Thai return form retirement after several years of absence to raise money for Evies Dream, a charity set up to help raise the money for 5 year old Evie Lou who has cerebral Palsy and needs to raise £50,000 for an operations and physiotherapy to help her walk

Unfortunately it was not a dream return as Ricky was pulled from the fight by his corner just before the third round after in form 6 foot 6 inch Lukasz Krupadziorow managed to control the bout using his hight dominance and knee

Injury and illness caused cancellation of Eugine Valerio's fight and also Billy Hatton VS Gaz Oates as Gaz was deemed too dehydrated to fight by the medical team after a bout of illness

Ricky who has raised £2,000 for the charity says that thoughts now turn to the next fight nigh on the first weekend of July .
